I'm going to buy a magic ticket, but I don't have a California ID(I am living in CA). Instead, I do have some documents proving my residency such as house contracts, gas bills, electric bills, etc. Can I prove it with this?

    Hi Yong!

Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for sending this great question about the Disneyland Resort Magic Key program to us hEAR!

This is a great question. The answer is it depends on why you're in California. If you're a non-California resident temporarily living in Southern California for a reason like going to school, a year-long job assignment, or some other reason along those lines then yes, you usually can qualify to purchase a California or Southern California specific Magic Key annual pass or even a special residential promotional ticket. My husband was stationed in the area in with the military in 2018 and I was able to purchase an annual pass using my military ID and residency documents (I used an electric bill) so if you have a student ID or work contract paperwork I'm sure you could do the same.

To make this kind of pass purchase, you will need to speak with a Cast Member in the Ticket Booths located in The Esplanade Area between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. If you forget to bring your supporting residency documents, you should be able to pull up your accounts on your phone. Also note that at the current time, the only two Magic Keys available for purchase are the Enchant Key and the Imagine Key. While the Imagine Key is only open to those who live within the zip codes of 90000 to 93599, anyone with a California zip code can utilize the monthly payment plan option. If you'd like to opt-in for a payment plan, you'll pay an initial $179* for your pass at the time of purchase and will then be billed monthly for the rest. Lastly, here's the link for the Magic Key Access Calendar so you can check any blackout dates against your schedule to find the pass that's perfect for you.

I hope that this answer helps you to have a year full of Disney days, Yong! Be sure to follow the official planDisney Instagram account for all kinds of tips and tricks. And if you have any more Disneyland Resort or Magic Key planning questions, We're All Ears!
