    I’m building a lightsaber at Savi’s on my next trip. I’ve heard that you can ship your blade home from droid depot. Can I do this at any point in my trip or should it be on the same day? And can I ship only the blade and case, and not the hilt?

You are visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge just in time to experience the expanded timeline, which includes our favorite icons like Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, and Han Solo. Creating your own lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop is a must-do that I am confident you will enjoy! I’ll be happy to help you navigate the shipping options.

    Yes, you can ship your lightsaber home after building it. Typically, Guests can ship the entire lightsaber, including the case! Once you check in at Savi’s for your reservation, be sure to let the Cast Member know that you’re interested in shipping your legendary lightsaber. If you’re only interested in shipping certain parts, let them know, and they will provide you with options. After your experience, they will assist you in preparing the item. Then, they will likely send you to Black Spire Surplus (formerly known as the First Order Cargo) to complete the shipping process. 

    If you wish to come back later to ship your lightsaber, no worries! Go back to Savi’s to speak with a Cast Member, and they will guide you.

    The cost to ship your lightsaber from Batuu to Oregon can vary. In my opinion, it’s worth the cost considering the peace of mind you receive from not having to worry about forgetting it as you travel. Trust me, I’ve forgotten something during a magical vacation before — it’s not fun!

    Bonus Tip: You can lighten your load even more by shipping other official Disney merchandise you purchase at the resort during your trip! This is available at select locations throughout the Disneyland Resort. Just ask a Cast Member at the shop. Also, be sure to have the original receipt to present for verification.
