I'm bringing my 2 year old grand children in October. What activites and rides are suggested for that age?

Hi, Patricia, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you so much for stopping by to see us with this great question. We love to hear from families planning their first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort with their little Mouseketeers!

One of the truly incredible things about Walt Disney World is the fact that there really is something for kids of all ages - even those of us who are just big kids at heart. Whether your grandchildren love princesses, pirates, or the inhabitants of a certain galaxy far, far away, you'll find plenty to keep them entertained on your trip.

When it comes to planning for preschoolers, the first thing you'll want to do is check out the list of attractions for Guests of any height. This will include things like stage shows and rides with gentle movement like Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid or The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Next, you might consider a character meet-and-greet experience if you think your little ones will be up for it. They might also love a parade, especially one like the Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party, where Guests of all ages get to dance with some of their favorite Disney pals.

Patricia, Disney has some great planning tools to help you find the perfect mix of attractions for your family. Take a look at the Planning Guide for Parents of Preschoolers and Little Ones for lots of ideas on things to do with the youngest Guests. After that, you might want to peruse the "Grand Adventure" Grandparents Vacationing Guide for even more ideas!

One more thing, Patricia. During your visit, be sure to stop by the Baby Care Centers located in each Theme Park. It's a perfect place to change a diaper, have a little snack, or just take a breather from the Parks. The Baby Care Centers are an oasis of calm on a busy Disney day, and your Disney Mom friends can't recommend them enough!

I hope this helps you plan a grand time with your grandchildren, Patricia. Please come by and see us again if you have any other questions!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
