Hi, Cordessa! Thanks for stopping by to see us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Two of my very favorite things in the world are birthdays and Disney, so I'm beyond excited to talk about both with you today!
We celebrated our son's 9th birthday at the Walt Disney World Resort a few weeks ago and we all had an absolute blast. A couple of suggestions to start - if you haven't already,
give Guest Relations a call and note your son's birthday on your Resort hotel reservation, as well as any
dining reservations you have. Disney can't make any guarantees, but you never know when a little extra pixie dust will come your way!
Also, be sure to pick up a "Happy Birthday" button at the front desk of your Resort hotel, or at any Guest Relations location or most retail shops around Walt Disney World. Plus, the rest of your family can sport "1st Visit" buttons to commemorate your magical vacation.
And what's a birthday without a cake? You can
special order a cake that will make your birthday boy's day!
When it's time to hit the Theme Parks, there are so many rides and attractions the whole family will love! My 9-year-old's faves are Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Test Track, and he always has to get hugs from his #1 pal, Donald Duck. There's a great
Disney planning page for parents of tweens to help you find your family's must-do's.
Cordessa, I hope your family has a magical first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. As you're planning, please don't hesitate to stop by and see us again with your questions. We know there's a lot to consider, and we're always here and ready to help!
