I'm bringing two daughters, 8 and 10 over New Years, they are very excited. I just broke my ankle and am on crutches. I cannot cancel the trip, but cannot be on my feet all day. Any suggestions for things they can do without me?

First of all I am so sorry about the ankle. Wishing you all the best in your recovery. As the proud parent of ten and eight year old girls, I have you covered. The real question is what can't they do? My girls go on everything. From Indiana Jones to the Tower of Terror, my girls love the riding all of the amazing attractions. My kids are by no means tall, but they are tall enough to go on all of the best Disney attractions. When my kids go on Soarin' in Disney California Adventure, I have let them wait in line and ride the attraction while I wait outside the exit or close by. It is great to see them take off at California Screamin' so bring a camera. On the other hand we also spent some quality time on Tom Sawyer Island while they ran and played. With mysterious caverns and secret passages as well as some great places for exploring, the kids can play in the coolest spot ever while you enjoy the beauty of it all. There are some spots on that island that are so serene. Over at Disney California Adventure you can all have a great time together and apart. I would start at the amazing Disney Animation. Inside here you all will be amazed at the Disney magic on the screens above your head. This is another perfect place for you to sit and watch while the kids explore. I let my ladies dance to the music and even explore the Sorcerer's Workshop at their own pace here. With a journey into Beast's room and under the sea, this place is much more then it appears. You can join the kids or let them explore while you relax. There is always Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes if the weather is right. My kids love this. As you can see there will be more to do for all of you. Feel free to ask me for more advice. I will see you at the parks.
