I’m bringing my nieces (ages 6&8) on their first WDW trip. Can I bring water & juice boxes in a cooler for them?

    Hi, Jewelle! Welcome to planDisney!

Jewelle, you are serving up major cool aunt points here! I bet your lucky little nieces are so excited for their special Walt Disney World Resort vacation with you. And, let's be honest - you're probably pretty excited, too!

Not only can you bring water and juice boxes for your little princesses, I highly recommend it. In fact, you can even bring along some snacks for when those hunger pangs hit during the day. Before you go, take a quick look at the property rules and regulations for a comprehensive list of things you can and can't bring into the theme parks. As for your cooler, you have a size limit of 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high, which is probably larger than you really want to lug around anyway! A soft-sided cooler like one you might carry your lunch in is likely your best bet. Also, do note that you can't fill it with loose ice, so you'll want to bring an ice pack along as well, or fill a small resealable bag with ice and drop that in your cooler.

To celebrate your nieces' first visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, be sure to pick up "1st Time" buttons for them! You can ask for them at your Resort hotel front desk, at any Guest Relations location, or most retail shops in the theme parks, and a Cast Member will personalize them for you. They're fun to wear around the parks, and they do make a nice memento of that special first time experiencing the magic.

I hope this helps you keep everyone hydrated and happy during your vacation, Jewelle. Please come see us again if you have any more questions. We're always here to help!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
