Hi Judy!  I am the exact opposite of you, as I grew up in SC, just a few hours from Disney World and have recently relocated to California and visit Disneyland more frequently!

2011 marked the beginning of a HUGE expansion project at the Disneyland Resort, so there are lots of new and exciting changes to report. I have compiled a list of recent and upcoming openings and I included 2010, since I'm not sure when you visited during that year!

    Disneyland Park

    - Orange Stinger was converted to Silly Symphony Swings (2010)
    - The AMAZING must-see nighttime water show World of Color debuted (2010)
    - Captain EO (starring Michael Jackson) returned, replacing Honey I Shrunk the Audience (2010)
    - New Star Tours the Adventure Continues in 3D (2011)
    - Mickey's Soundsational Parade Debuted (2011)
    - Jolly Holiday Bakery opened (2011)

    California Adventure Park

    - Ariel's Undersea Adventure (2011)
    - Goofy's Sky School replaced Mullholland Madness (2011)
    - Paradise Garden Grill and Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta opened (2011)

In addition, construction on Cars Land began at California Adventure Park in 2011.  12 Acres have been magically transformed into Radiator Springs, an area featuring all new attractions, shopping, and dining locations inspired by the movie Cars.  This new area along with Buena Vista Street, the park's new entry way are scheduled to open early this Summer.

Here's wishing you a most magical Disneyland vacation that is Pixie Dusted in every way.
