I’m booking a winter trip and am concerned about possible weather-related last minute flight cancelation (normally no refund). Travel Protection Plan rep said it it’s only covered if the flight is booked through Disney. Where can I do this?

Hi Angela, and welcome to planDisney!

So a Walt Disney World Resort vacation may be on the horizon? I think you will be happy with the possible memories you will create with your family.

Hopefully, there will not be a need to use a travel protection plan, but it is always good to have it handy, just in case. When you make your Walt Disney World Resort vacation online, you will proceed through the purchase process, and when you arrive at the shopping cart, you will be given the option to “Add Travel Protection.” You can add the protection up to your final payment for an additional fee that will cover everyone in your travel party.

At this time, airfare is no longer included with your vacation packages. This allows the guest to shop around to find the flights that work best for you and your budget. If you find a flight that works for your timeframe (depending on the airline), you may be able to add travel protection to your flight purchase or purchase the insurance separately from a third-party insurance company.

We will be here to help if you need us. Please let us know how if you have any questions.

    Have a magical time!
