I'm booking a trip for September of 2015 but free dining dates haven't been announced. Do I chance it and book my package without dining ahead of time? Or do I book my dining plan and possibly get credit back(is that how it works?)?

    Hi Dineen,

Congratulations on your fall Walt Disney World vacation!  The Special Offers for the fall have yet to be released.  Although in the past one of the Special Offers has been for the free Disney Dining Plan, it is never guaranteed that will be one of the offers released this year.  Therefore my advice is to book whatever type of vacation package you are happy with now in case a Special Offer doesn't apply or appeal to you.  If the Disney Dining Plan is something you would like then personally I would book that vacation package.

If the free dining promotion is released (Pixie Dusted fingers crossed!) and it applies to your dates you may call and request that offer be applied to your current booking.  If that results in a lower vacation price then you will be credited back the difference.  The key is to call as soon as you see a Special Offer that applies to you as there is limited availability for each Special Offer.  I have the Special Offer page bookmarked and check often myself!

Another tip is to make your Advanced Dining Reservations as soon as you know your vacation dates.  If the very popular Special Offer for free dining is released, highly sought after restaurants can book up quickly.  Remember that your Disney Resort hotel room reservation or vacation package is independent from your Advanced Dining Reservations.  So even if in the future you rebook your vacation package to apply a Special Offer, it will not affect your previously made Advanced Dining Reservations.

Thank you for your question Dineen.  Please let us know if you have any further Disney vacation planning questions.  We are always happy to help!

    Blessings,
