I'm booking a trip to Disney in July to celebrate my son's 1st birthday! I was wondering if there are any specific attractions we should include on our trip. Restaurants, rides, shows? Thanks!

    Hello Yanelle!

Thank you so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your celebration question. What a magical birthday you are planning for your little prince.

My favorite place to begin is the Planning for Pre-School Kids & Little Ones site. It is full of information and tips for exploring Walt Disney World Resort with the littlest Mouseketeers in mind. At that age, my kiddos loved classics like Dumbo the Flying Elephant and "it's a small world." They also adored many of the parades and shows.

While my little ones weren't usually shy, our first few encounters with our favorite Disney characters were a little overwhelming to them. I found Character Dining to be a much better way to get the adorable pictures I was looking for. With Character Dining, they had some time to "warm-up" to the characters and before long it was all smiles and giggles. There are even special cakes you can request for the occasion. Another fun #DisneyFirst is the First Haircut Package available at the Harmony Barber Shop. I'll never forget watching Michael cut the first curl from my little prince's head and where's a more magical place to have it happen than Main Street, U.S.A.?

If there is anything else we can assist you with in planning his special day, please let us know. Until then, have a delightfully Disney day.

    Magical Wishes,

    Lauren
