Ahoy there, Tam, and welcome back to planDisney! It sounds like you’re an experienced sailor who’s excited to explore the newest Disney Cruise ship, so I’m happy to be the one to help you navigate this decision.
Choosing your room is half the fun, especially when plotting a course to figure out which layout feels just right for your crew. Since I’m not sailing on the
Disney Destiny until next week, I consulted with a Cast Member on this one. Although Disney hasn’t officially identified which staterooms have the traditional layout versus the sideways configuration, it does seem the Destiny will include the sideways layouts you mentioned (similar to some of her sister ships).
These staterooms are typically located toward the front of the ship (aka forward), and if you take a peek at the
Deck Plans for the Disney Destiny, you can use the layout of stateroom 6525 as a helpful reference point. Based on its shape and footprint, it appears to match the sideways-style design that Guests often prefer for a more spacious feel.
Since I cannot point you to a definitive list of which rooms have which layout, the best strategy is to browse the deck plans closely and look for rooms with that longer horizontal footprint. If you need extra reassurance, you can always
call a friendly Disney Cruise Line representative who can help you double-check availability and guide you toward the best options.
No matter which layout you choose, I hope you’ll be sailing into a whole new world of magic on the Disney Destiny very soon. And If you think of anything else while planning, I hope you’ll cruise back to see us at
planDisney!
SEA ya real soon,
Sami
