Hi Elizabeth,
Thank you for dropping by planDisney with a great question!
Given that you are planning to visit during the
Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort, I highly recommend that you book a
vacation package with a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and
theme park tickets. With a vacation package, you can make
advanced dining reservations for the length of your stay up to 10 days.
We visited last year the week leading up to Christmas. The dining reservations we had made our trip so much more manageable. We loved using
Mobile Dine Check-in to check in for those reservations. We always select a few of our favorite restaurants and we try one or two new restaurants. We stayed at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. It was gorgeously decorated and we loved the walking path to Magic Kingdom.
If you do reserve a vacation package and only do two theme park days, you could spend a few days relaxing at the resort and/or shopping at
Disney Springs. With the traffic at that time of year, we treasured also having access to
Walt Disney World® Monorail Transportation.
Once you book a vacation package or buy theme park tickets, be sure to link them to your
My Disney Experience account. Once linked, you need to make
Disney Park Pass system reservations for each guest in your party. If you decide later that you want to change those park pass reservations, always check the
theme park reservation availability calendar prior to canceling any park pass reservations.
Elizabeth, keep your eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for holiday news. We are planning to visit again this year and are excited to see the holiday decorations. I trust your plans will come together and you will be in the midst of the magic soon!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
