Hi Ashley, welcome to planDisney! You've got a friend in me to help with this – we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel when my youngest was two years old. Let's make sure you're all set up to book your magical vacation at the Happiest Place on Earth!
Ashley, you should include your two-year-old when booking your stay at the
Disneyland Hotel. Every Guest staying in the room, regardless of age, should be indicated on the reservation. One of the first steps of booking will be specifying the number of adults and the number of kids (and their age at the time of travel). If you choose to add theme park tickets to your reservation, the system will not add a ticket for Guests on your reservation who are aged two or younger. That's because Guests younger than three years old are considered special Guests of Mickey Mouse and do not need a theme park ticket.
My family loves the Disneyland Hotel –
Goofy's Kitchen is a great place to eat if you're interested in Character dining. There are also
a few different pools, and two mini waterslides that my little one went on again and again. Another thing I love about the Disneyland Hotel is the easy access to the Disneyland Monorail. It's a great way to get into the park, and is especially nice for getting back to the hotel when everyone is tired at the end of the day.
One of the benefits of staying at a Resort hotel is
Early Entry. With a valid theme park ticket and reservation, you can enter a designated park 30 minutes early each morning of your stay. On days when Disneyland has Early Entry, you can access the park early via the Monorail. Just make sure to bring your room key. It's a great perk!
Here are a few tips from one mom to another when it comes to time in the park:
- Have a list of things you want to do, but try to go with the flow if plans change.
- Take breaks to rest and snack. I like riding around the park on the Disneyland Railroad, especially between Tomorrowland and Main Street, U.S.A. My kids love eating Mickey-shaped pretzels, fresh fruit, and Dole Whip between meals.
- There is a Baby Care Center at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. with toddler-size toilets, changing tables, and a vending machine with essentials available to purchase like sunscreen and over-the-counter medicine. There is one in California Adventure, too.
- The Disneyland mobile app is helpful. You can use it to filter attractions by age, thrill level, and height. Plus, mobile ordering food is a time saver – we like Pizza Planet.
Ashley, if you would like to speak with a Cast Member, there are
dedicated phone lines for hotel reservations and vacation packages. Of course, you are also welcome to send your questions to us at planDisney – we love helping Guests make the most of their Disney vacations!
Wishing you magic,
Kriss
