If I’m booking a Disney vacation package in April but actually not taking the trip until the following February, when is my card actually charged

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Laura! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney. Thank you so much for stopping by with your question!

When you book a Walt Disney World vacation package, your card is not charged for the full amount right away. At the time of booking, you'll pay a deposit to secure your reservation. Right now, that deposit is usually $200 USD, though it's important to note that prices are always subject to change. That initial payment is what holds your room and package details.

After that, you're completely in control of how and when you make additional payments. You can log into your reservation and pay little by little whenever it works for you. Some people like to make monthly payments, others prefer to pay in larger chunks, and some simply wait and pay it all off closer to the deadline. There's no required schedule in between.

The one key date to keep in mind is your final payment deadline. The remaining balance on your package is due 30 days before your check-in date. So if you're traveling in February, you'll want to have everything paid off by early January.

If you ever feel like you're ready to be done with it, you can also pay the full amount at any point before that deadline. It's entirely up to you.

Laura, this is one of my favorite parts of booking a Disney vacation because it gives you time to plan, dream, and spread out the cost in a way that feels comfortable. You're setting yourself up for a very smooth countdown to your trip.

    Warm hugs,
