Hey Morgan,
Welcome back to planDisney! I'm happy to help you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation taking place later this year. This is such a great question - I wasn't totally sure of the correct answer, so I chatted with a cast member this morning to confirm. They informed me that only vacation packages that have been booked directly through Disney are eligible to include the
Dining Plans. Any third party-booked packages will not qualify to add this option on later, as cast members can only modify reservations made directly through Disney's website.
I see that you're visiting in October, which is the most spooky time to visit thanks to the beautiful fall/Halloween decor around the resort and
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! This Magic Kingdom event requires separate tickets and is a fan favorite. Some of the most popular attractions get a spooky Halloween-themed overlay just for this event. You'll also receive treat bags so that you can trick-or-treat throughout the park, and there's spectacular entertainment offered. My favorite parade that I've experienced in Magic Kingdom has to be
Mickey's Boo To You Halloween Parade. It is a fantastic procession of some of our favorite characters all dressed up for Halloween including Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck and Clarabelle Cow dressed as the Sanderson Sisters! I honestly do not like Halloween much in real life, but this party is one of my favorite events! It is also one of the only occasions where adults are allowed to wear costumes inside the theme parks, so bring your best costume and be prepared to party. Tickets for this event generally go on sale in late spring/early summer. Keep your eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for announcements. These tickets will sell out, so you won't want to miss your chance to purchase them!
I hope this information was helpful, Morgan. If you need any additional help with planning (or some help deciding on a costume for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party), come on back and let us know. See ya real soon!
