Hi, Janette! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Now more than ever, it's a wonderful time for a Walt Disney World Resort vacation! There are so many exciting things happening at Walt Disney World in the upcoming months, including the opening of
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at
Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Access to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and its experiences will be subject to capacity restrictions. While there is no way to know for sure exactly how the opening of this immersive new land will affect crowd levels throughout the rest of the park, it is fairly safe to assume that Disney's Hollywood Studios will be quite busy this fall.
Theme park closures due to capacity-level crowds are rare, but it has been known to happen from time to time. If crowds at one of the Walt Disney World theme parks reach capacity, the park will close to additional guests in phases. During the earlier closure phases,
Annual Passholders,
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel guests, and those guests who have in-park appointments or
dining reservations will still be admitted.
In the final phase of a capacity closure, no additional guests may be admitted to the park due to fire codes. However, this level of park closure is extremely rare. You will most likely be able to be admitted to the park due to your dining reservation. Just to be on the safe side though, I would recommend arriving at Disney's Hollywood Studios as early in the day as possible. If you would prefer not to have to worry about this at all, keep in mind that dining reservations can easily be modified using your
My Disney Experience mobile app. There are numerous amazing dining options throughout the Walt Disney World Resort if you decide you would rather enjoy a quiet dinner elsewhere.
