Hi, I'm on the basic dining plan and I wanted to know if I can tip using disney dollars??

I have heard mixed reviews about tipping with Disney Dollars.

Yes you can tip with Disney Dollars but remember that technically these dollars are used for purchasing Disney merchandise. If a server is unable to exchange them for cash or if the process of exchanging them is a hassle, then this type of tip may not be appreciated.

Some Cast Members report that the service staff just exchanges their Disney Dollars at the end of their shift for cash. Others feel that this is time-consuming and that tips should be only in cash.

Perhaps you could ask your server if tipping using Disney Dollars is okay at their restaurant or ask the Manager if Disney Dollar tips are easily converted.

Technically, you could charge the tip to your room account and then pay off your account using the Disney Dollars.
