Hi there! I'm going back to WDW next month and wondering if I can pay to get my water park refillable mug from last year reactivated instead of purchasing a new one? Thanks

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kerry! “I’m going back to Walt Disney World” is a magical combination of words that fill my heart with pixie dust. Hurray! I know you are counting down the weeks and getting ready to let the magic begin.

Okay, let’s talk refillable mugs. It can be a confusing topic, because there are two different kinds of mugs around the Walt Disney World Resort. You’re asking about the Water Parks Refillable Mugs, known as the All-Day Refillable Mug, that can be purchased at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park or Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. These mugs can be purchased and used in the Disney Water Parks only. The other type of refillable mug is the Resort Refillable Mug. Guests may purchase these mugs, which are active for the length of their stay and can be refilled at any Walt Disney World Resort hotel Quick-Service dining location - they are not refillable in the theme parks or water parks.

Kerry, the two mugs are totally separate, meaning that you can’t refill a water park mug in a resort and you can’t refill a Resort Refillable Mug at a water park. If you want to bring your water park refillable mug with you next month, you should be able to pay a reactivation fee and use that mug in the water parks, but you can’t use it at a resort (except for ice water). I believe the reactivation fee is a few dollars less than the current All-Day Refillable Mug price of $11.99, but prices are subject to change at any time.

The programs also work differently, because while you can pay a reactivation fee and use the water park mug in the water parks on a different visit, you may not reactivate a Resort Refillable Mug.

Whew. I hope you don’t feel like Alice talking to the Cheshire Cat after all this explanation! I hope this has helped clear up your question, and that you’ll come back and see us if you have any further questions as you count down to your visit to Walt Disney World! Have a splash-tastic time in the water parks!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
