Hi Judith,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your great question!
How exciting, in less than a month you’ll be at the
World’s Most Magical Celebration!
When it comes to DJI OM 4 stabilizers and Go Pro cameras, you’re more than welcome to bring them into the Theme Parks. To my knowledge, the wrist and hand straps are allowed for Go Pros as well so you can record those memories on attractions!
The Walt Disney World Resort rules state that you can’t bring in any selfie sticks or hand held extension poles. Tripods that can’t fit into a backpack or extend over six feet are also prohibited.
When my husband and I are in the Theme Parks, we bring both our DJI OM 4 and Go Pro and haven’t run into any issues! One note, you cannot record the security process. When you’re going through security, it’s better to have your camera equipment in your backpack so you can easily walk right to the Mickey turnstiles to enter the Theme Park. Also, remember that if you're recording on a ride, you’re doing so at your own risk. So, if you’re riding the “
Wildest Ride in the Wilderness”, make sure to hold on tight to your camera!
As you’re making memories, if you need a less crowded place for pictures with any of the Theme Park Icons (
Cinderella Castle,
Tree of Life etc.), I highly suggest going to the side of the Icons. Most guests stop in front for their pictures, so if you already have that angle, make sure to venture to the side to grab a few more flicks. One of my all-time favorite spots is the walking trail around the Tree of Life. Not only will you see the detailed animals carved into the Tree of Life, but you’ll also get some amazing pictures with less of a crowd!
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you prepare to document your next Walt Disney World vacation.
If you have any further planning or vacation questions, please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
Cheers To Making And Capturing New Memories,
Bryanna
