Hi! I’m attending Magic Kingdom After Hours but staying at a non-Disney hotel on property (Hilton Lake Buena Vista). What’s the best route to get back to my hotel after this event?

Hi there, Laura! Thanks for stopping by planDisney!

That’s so exciting that you’ll be attending Disney After Hours at the Magic Kingdom!  Let’s take a look at your transportation options for getting back to your hotel.

Transportation is provided to Walt Disney Resort hotels and the Ticket and Transportation Center after Disney After Hours events. Cast Members will point you in the direction of the buses, ferry boat, or monorail, depending on where you need to go. In your particular case, you’ll need to head to the Ticket and Transportation Center to get a taxi or ride share, or drive your own vehicle back to your hotel since there are no Disney transportation options to the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista.

If it was earlier in the day, or if you decide to leave the event early, you could take a bus from the Magic Kingdom to Disney Springs and then walk to your hotel. This won’t be an option if you stay for the entire After Hours event (which ends at 1:00 A.M.), because Disney Springs closes at 11 P.M. and the buses run for an hour after it closes. Minnie Vans could be an option if you’d like to be dropped off at Disney Springs, but again, I don’t think that will be possible if Disney Springs is closed. Be sure to download the My Disney Experience mobile app, and its directions feature will let you know if there are any available Disney transportation available at that time.

While I haven’t had the opportunity to attend this event yet, it’s very high on my Disney Parks bucket list. Being able to enjoy the parks with lower wait times and all of those snacks included in the price of your ticket sounds like a dream come true. I have had the opportunity to ride the Jungle Cruise after dark, and I would highly recommend making that trip. It’s a very different vibe to navigate the jungle rivers by spotlight and an extremely fun experience.

Laura, I hope this information helps. I’m sure you’re going to have a fun-filled night of magic and adventure! If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to ask your pals at planDisney.

    Magical travels!
