I'm attempting to book a reservation at the Fort wilderness campground for next late Dec/early Jan. The website tells me they are not available. Is the campground only one certain times of the year? Thank you

Hi Jennifer! Fort Wilderness is our home away from home now for the last few years. We purchased a motor coach and bring our pups and enjoy the magic of Disney in a very unique resort.

Fort Wilderness has become very popular and it can be very difficult to get reservations. You must book way ahead and especially for the holidays. By looking at the time you were hoping to be there it is during the Christmas and New Years holiday season. After checking the website myself it is apparent that they are indeed booked completely right now for the dates you wish.  You can call central reservations or check back daily to see if openings come up. We have had to do that in the past but there is obviously no guarantee you will get a spot. I suggest you arrange an alternative resort while you keep checking.

The campground is open 365 days of the year just as all other Disney resorts. Holidays are tough to get reservations for and weekends can also be tougher since many local Floridians enjoy coming and "camping" with their families. It is always best to look ahead as far as you can and book a site and cancel later if you must.  I will keep my fingers crossed that you will get one of those cancelations and be able to enjoy Fort Wilderness at the end of this year!
