I'm an AP and will be using the DxDDP the 1st time. My husband is a bigger eater than I am so If we go to a table service lunch can we use 1 credit and share a meal? Or if not can he use 1 credit while I pay for an app Out of pocket? Thx!

    Hi Kelly!

It's great to hear from a fellow Floridian and Annual Passholder! So let's talk about Disney Dining Plans! The answer depends on where you dine. If you chose a restaurant that has a "prix fixe" menu or set price per person,  (i.e. Cinderella's Royal Table) you will have to pay or use a dining credit. If you dine at a restaurant that serves a buffet, you will not be able to share. If the restaurant has an "a la carte" menu, then you will be able to share and even pay out of pocket for appetizers. When your are seated, your server will ask if you are on a dining plan. This is the best time to let him or her know what you would like to do. The way the plan works is that you will have a certain amount of credits available and when you are done with your meal, your server will "charge" your MagicBand for the number of credits used. If you decided to pay out of pocket for an appetizer, they will bring you the bill for that. Not too long ago, my family and I were in a similar situation. We had the dining plan and were having dinner with friends (who weren't on the dining plan). We simply "split" the bill according to what was going to be paid with using the dining credits and the rest was paid in cash. I hope this helps!
