Illuminations vs. candletight procession. What times are both? Can you do both in the same night? Can you get ticekts to CP w/out dining option? Trip is 12/9-12/14 w/ 4 kids 1-8yrs. Can't get reserv for both CP & princess meal on same day. Must do Prince

Hi Kimberly! First of all you can certainly do both the Candlelight Processional and Illuminations on the same night. During the holiday time they push back Illuminations until 9:30pm each night and they add a special fireworks and music show at the end which is beautiful and certainly worth the wait.

If you can't or don't want to get the dining package for the Candlelight Processional there is a stand-by line located to the right of the theater heading toward Italy pavilion. This line can be quite long and guests will be there for as long as an hour before a show. Sometimes they don't mind if a person is holding a place for others especially when small children are involved but you would need to ask those around you if you could leave one or two family members to hold a place while you take the others to do something during that hour. They will allow in only the amount from that line to fill the theater after the dining package guests have been seated. Quite a few guests can sit in this large area so if you are worried about getting in ask a cast member for their advice. Your only other option is to just stand at the back to listen and watch but you get background noise from those walking by and it isn't quite the same experience.

If you do purchase a dining package for Candlelight you will also have a special location to watch Illuminations that evening. It doesn't matter which of the three shows you see as all those with the special sticker will be allowed into this private area located between the two Epcot stores as you enter the World Showcase. Cast members will be around to give you directions.

Keep trying for a dining package for the day you are in the park for the Princess meal...things do come open when guests find they need to cancel. If you can't get it you can watch Illuminations at any location around the lagoon...no tickets are required.  Check the wind direction and find a nice spot to watch!  Enjoy!
