Hi Diane,
Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.
IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is one of my most favorite nighttime spectaculars at Walt Disney World, and the Epcot World Showcase bridge between United Kingdom Pavilion and France Pavilion is one of my most favorite viewing spots. I absolutely love the music, the Inferno Barge, the Earth Globe, and — of course — the fireworks. I also love seeing expressions of excitement from Guests — especially little ones — as they take it all in.
I think your plan sounds pretty good. On one of our last trips, we stood along that same bridge and enjoyed a great view. We started scouting for spots about a half hour before the show, and we ended up standing just a bit away from the railing as a family with little ones stood in front of us. I was happy they had their view as I recall one of the little ones remained in the stroller while another stood and watched through the railing. I recall a few Guests were able to sit down in spots on the bridge.
My suggestion would be to get a feel for the crowd size as you tour the park and use that to decide how soon to head to the bridge. It looks like you are arriving for your Walt Disney World vacation after the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival concludes, so I could imagine that timing will work in your favor. I'd say if you're wanting to view from right along the bridge railings, it wouldn't hurt to check out the scene an hour or so before hand.
Diane, keep in mind that
Disney Skyliner Epcot station is under construction at International Gateway, so I'd encourage you to check out the scene when you arrive so you can adjust your plans as needed.
Enjoy your Disney!
Jerry
