I'll be at WDW Nov 2-6 this fall, and I just realized there's a run at that time. I love Disney runs but won't be participating in this one. Based on the run itinerary, could you help me plan which parks I should visit when to avoid crowds?

Hi Elaine! Welcome back to planDisney.

Your scheduled vacation to Walt Disney World Resort in November is one of my absolute favorite seasons to visit. The weather is cooler, you can often catch both fall and Christmas decorations for a double dose of Disney holidays. Of course, The World's Most Magical Celebration will still be going strong with specialty-themed treats found in the 50th Anniversary Celebration Sips and Bites Guide.

You are correct indeed! The runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend runs from November 3-6, 2022. Great foresight in planning ahead to avoid road closures and theme park delays. While I cannot guarantee you the exact course runDisney will be using at this time, I can make recommendations based on my experience running this event over the last four years. And yes, I signed up this morning for the Disney Two Course Challenge!

First, historically, this event is staged at EPCOT. Thus, from November 4-6, I would not choose EPCOT as my morning Park Pass Reservation. On Friday morning, the Disney Wine & Dine 5K will finish relatively early in the day. I would simply choose to enjoy my Disney Resorts Collection property until after 9:30 AM when roads should be opening up. Personally, on Saturday, during the Disney Wine & Dine 10K, I would select between Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Magic Kingdom Park. Again, if the past is our guide, this course will steer clear of those roadways and parks. And finally, on Sunday, the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon has been visiting all of the theme parks except Magic Kingdom Park. So you guessed it, I would choose to reserve Magic Kingdom Park. Also, side note, Sunday evening all participants of the half marathon and many of their guests will have tickets to an after-hours celebration with early entry into EPCOT, the crowds get rather hefty!

I would imagine, you will visit the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival at some point. Do not miss the global markets, live entertainment, and delectable bites. Keep your eyes peeled to Disney Parks Blog for more announcements as the festival gets closer!

While I hope I have helped you to navigate around this runDisney event if you happen to see a silver long-haired lady decked out in shimmering planDisney run gear, please give me a yell! Many thanks for sending me a personal question, I am always here to help with all your Walt Disney World Resort vacation questions.

    Keeping it Magical,
    Cindy
