I'll be in WDW next week, and the forecast is calling for rain and thunderstorms--I want to be prepared! I've seen that some rides may close in rain--what is the policy on ride closings for storms?

    Howdy, Madeline!

Florida weather is always unpredictable. But you can always count on it raining at least once, while you are in the parks.

For the safety of all the guests, attractions will stop operation when lightning is detected within several miles to the park. If there is light rain, most of the rides will continue as normal. I can remember riding Big Thunder Mountain and feeling raindrops fall on my head. Every attraction has a different weather safety policy.

Also, the length of time that the attractions are closed depends on how long it will take for the storm to pass. Just be prepared and have a poncho or two packed in your bag!

Enjoy your upcoming Disney vacation! Only a few days left!

Wishing you magic, memories, and sunshine!
