I'll be visiting WDW for the first time in late August with my 7 yo. I have 8:30 reservations at Cinderella's Royal Table one night. Should I watch the fireworks from outside the castle? If not, should I eat earlier and use a FP for fireworks?

Hi Sharon! The Magic Kingdom fireworks is a memory you will hold forever. There is something very magical about being in the park and seeing the great Wishes show.

I strongly suggest you consider eating at an earlier time if you are considering Cinderella's Royal Table reservations. You cannot really see the fireworks when inside the castle. There are many great locations to view them throughout the park and each is unique and gives you a different perspective. I have seen them while standing between Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain attractions and was amazed how neat that view was. I have also stood in Fantasyland behind the Carrousel but one of my favorite spots is over by Space Mountain. The fireworks show is up in the air with most of it shooting off high above the castle making many locations great viewing spots.

I am not one to use a FastPass for the fireworks since there are so many attractions in this park and so many options for fireworks viewing. I do use FastPasses for a parade now and then. If getting that perfect photo of the castle with the bursts of color around it then yes use a FastPass but otherwise save it for a ride. Definitely don't count on seeing it during an 8:30 dinner if the Wishes is at 9pm.

Hope this helps with your planning. Let us know what we can do to help with your upcoming vacation!
