Hi David, and welcome to
planDisney!
Thanks for stopping by as you
dream on about your September vacation to the
Most Magical Place on Earth. You must be experiencing some
sweet emotions just thinking about your adventure.
Walk this way as I share information I think you'll find helpful.
I know you
don't want to miss a thing during your getaway, but at this point, we don't have an exact reopening date for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. Check
the attraction's information page here and follow the
Disney Parks Blog as your visit approaches to see when this thrilling coaster will be
back in the saddle. I'll cross my fingers and hope you're not
cryin' or
jaded about the news when September rolls around.
Regarding the attraction's intensity, it is a smoother and much shorter ride than
Expedition Everest. As long as you're okay with being turned upside down (Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith has two loops and one corkscrew-style inversion), I think you can comfortably enjoy the ride. You won't experience the simulated G-forces as you did with
Mission: SPACE Orange, which, for me, is the most stomach-twisting attraction in all of Walt Disney World. Based on your tolerance for thrill rides, I would give you the green light. If you reach the boarding area and change your mind, speak with a Cast Member in the loading zone, and they'll direct you to an exit.
I wish I had more exact information regarding a reopening date, David. My family will be visiting in August, and since Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is one of my son's favorite rides, we're hoping it'll be back online for us too. Thanks for sending your question to planDisney, and if there's anything else we can do to make your fall visit even more memorable, don't hesitate to reach out again.
Rock on,
Betsy
