Hi, I’ll be visiting the parks next September and I want to buy the tickets from now. What happens if I have to cancel the trip due to the COVID restrictions in Uruguay or USA or if I get the illness? Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?

    Hello Guillermo,

Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!

September is one of my favorite times of the year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, and it's great to hear you're planning your own visit during this delightful season.

When you book a Walt Disney World Resort vacation package, you can have some peace of mind to know you have some flexibility in your planning. Let me share a quick overview of how the current cancellation and refund policy would work for vacation packages.

When you book your vacation package, you'll be prompted to pay a $200 deposit for your reservation. Your full payment for your package would be due 30 days before you arrive, and you could make payments in between on a schedule that works for you.

In the event you cancel your package 30 days or more before you arrive, you would receive a refund. The refund would exclude any third-party fees or nonrefundable costs such as travel protection plans. If you cancel your package between 2 days to 29 days before you arrive, you would receive a refund, and the refund would have a cancellation fee of $200 deducted in addition to any third-party fees or nonrefundable costs. If you cancel 1 day or less before you arrive, the package would be nonrefundable.

It's always helpful to be familiar with the current vacation package terms and conditions to stay in the know as you're planning your travel.

If your plans call for purchasing theme park tickets only, rather than a complete vacation package, it's helpful to know that theme park tickets are not refundable. The amount you pay for tickets can typically be applied towards the cost of buying new tickets should your tickets go unused.

Guillermo, I hope this helps you with your planning. If you have additional questions as you are planning to book your vacation package, you can call the Walt Disney Travel Company at (407) 939-7675.

I hope you enjoy all the magic of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
