I'll be visiting in early February with my 4-year-old son. I'm debating between staying at Art of Animation and Pop Century. Can you give me the pros and cons for both?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Robyn!

You and your 4-year-old prince must be getting SO excited for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation in February! It’s such a great time to visit! Having stayed at both of these whimsical and fun Disney Resort hotels, I can tell you the pros for each, but in all honesty, there aren’t really any cons!

Disney’s Pop Century Resort is composed of all Standard or Preferred rooms. The Preferred rooms are closer to the main building which houses the Quick Service dining location and is adjacent to the Disney Resort Transportation bus stop. The main pool is the Hippy Dippy Pool and is 60s themed, as are the surrounding buildings. If you are into pop culture throughout the yEARS, you will most likely LOVE the theming! My favorite part is the soundtrack, to tell you the truth! There are also some larger than life Disney Characters such as Baloo and Mowgli, so no need to worry, the Disney charm is still felt all around you! Some rooms at this Disney Resort hotel have recently been refurbished to have a pull-down murphy bed, no carpets and a very “modern” vibe.

Across the way and over Generation Gap Bridge, you will find Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Most rooms at this Disney Resort hotel are Family Suites, with the exception of the Little Mermaid Rooms. Having stayed in the Little Mermaid Rooms, I can tell you that it CAN be a bit of a hike to the main building. If you have your own vehicle, this would not be a concern. The grounds are truly spectacular and you can spend an afternoon visiting the different areas such as Cars, Finding Nemo, and The Lion King! There is also a splash pad area for your little prince!

I hope the highlights that I have presented have helped you make a selection and please come and visit us again soon!
