I'll visit WDW with my two daughters who don't understand English. I'm thinking on using the Ears to the World devices. How do they work for rides that feature a live cast member speaking (like Great Movie Ride)? Is there a live translator?

    Hi there, Juan Ramon!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I'm happy to help!

Walt Disney World Resort is a vacation destination for guests from all over the world. I'm always amazed at all of the different languages I hear as I spend time in the parks - it's beautiful!

Ears to the World - Disney Show Translators
are wireless headphone units that Guests with limited English fluency can use to enjoy select attractions that have English narration. Attraction narration can be translated into French, German, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. These complimentary units are available at Guest Relations in all four theme parks: Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom. While the units are free for guests to use, a refundable deposit is required.

Ears to the World units provide translation for over 20 attractions and shows. Translation narration is synchronized to the attraction, providing a seamless experience for guests. A few attractions have scripted live narration, and the translation units will provide a scripted narration that's very close to the scripted lines of the Cast Member.

I hope this helps answer your question. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
