Bright suns, Latisha! Thanks for stopping by the planet of planDisney!
Wow, your voyage on the
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is just around the corner. I'm sure you've waited for eons to embark on this journey and I can promise you.. It will not disappoint! I have a few tips that I gathered from my adventure aboard the Halcyon Starcruiser that I'd be happy to share. First of all, bring a portable charging device or carry your wall charger for your mobile device with you around the ship. You'll use your datapad frequently and I found that when I dove deep into my story, I was constantly exploring all of the datapad possibilities and draining my battery in the process. The creators of the ship were wise, positioning wall charging units throughout the ship. I was able to charge up in the atrium and The Sublight Lounge without diverging from my path! My next piece of advice? Go for it! I mean, really go for it! Dress your galaxy best and allow yourself to be fully immersed in the story!
Latisha, while you can purchase Disney Genie+ on the day of your excursion to Batuu, you really don't need to! With your stay, you'll have Lightning Lane access to both
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. You can redeem these at any point in the day while visiting Batuu. Also, the last transport back to the Halcyon Starcruiser leaves at 4:00 p.m., so purchasing Genie+ may not be the best use of your credits. If you do decide to make the purchase and stay in the park later, you'll have to take another method of transportation back to your ship.
I strongly recommend staying within
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge during your excursion day. While you are not restricted to just this area, it helps you stay within the story. You also have missions and jobs to complete on your datapad and that kept my husband and me busy for hours! If you want to visit other parts of
Disney's Hollywood Studios, I'd recommend doing it on a different day of your trip. A stay on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a truly immersive experience with every detail meticulously planned. If you venture off the planet, you lose a bit of that immersive nature and it feels more like a regular day in the parks. However, it is your day, so it is up to you what works best for your family!
I hope this helps answer your cruising questions today, Latisha! I am always here and happy to chat further about this one-of-a-kind experience at the Walt Disney World Resort. If you have additional questions, you know where to find me!
May the stars light your way,
Ashley
