I'll will be traveling to WDW in Oct with two kids, 3 and 18 mo. Trying to decide between the Art of Animation and the Wilderness Lodge. I like the themed rooms at AofA, but worry about lack of convienence getting to parks and other WDW activities.

This is a tough decision considering that you are selecting between two great Walt Disney World Resorts. The obvious difference between the two will be the nightly room rates. Disney's Wilderness Lodge falls under the deluxe rates while Disney's Art of Animation will fall under the value rates.  Many guests use this as a starting point.  However, it seems that transportation and convenience is your concern and I can certainly understand why.  I have always enjoyed staying at the Wilderness Lodge due to the convenience of transportation and close proximity to the Magic Kingdom.  It really is a boat ride away.  The idea of having a choice between a boat ride or a bus is always a plus.  You can easily take a bus or boat over to the Magic Kingdom and quickly hop on the monorail for a quick trip to Epcot.  You can also catch a bus to any of the 4 theme parks, water parks and Downtown Disney, too.  Disney's Art of Animation Resort will only provide buses to all 4 theme parks, water parks and to the Downtown Disney area.  However, this did not slow us down.

Now with all this being said, no matter which resort you decide to go with, please know that you are certainly going to have a wonderful time.  Really, I have always enjoyed WDW Transportation from every resort.  I have always been able to arrive at any WDW destination with plenty of time to spare if I exercised great time management.  I would not put too much emphasis on transportation.  You will get to where you need to go. Focus on what you would like to enjoy!  The themed rooms are all the buzz right now because they are quite MAGICAL.  If you have little ones, I know this is where they will want to be.  Disney's Art of Animation is "candy" for the eyes!  My advice, if you have little ones, put yourself in their shoes.
