Hi there Camela, welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question, I'm thrilled to help! I am so excited to hear you’re gearing up for your trip to
Walt Disney World Resort! You are sure to make awesome memories at The Most Magical Place on Earth!
Planning a Disney World trip with a 7-month-old and a 7-year-old is a wonderful adventure! Our daughter was 11 months old and our twins were 10 when she took her first magical vacation and we had a blast!
With two days and two young kids, it’s important to choose parks that offer a mix of attractions, entertainment, and comfort. My suggestion would be
Magic Kingdom Park and
Animal Kingdom Theme Park or Magic Kingdom Park and
EPCOT.
Magic Kingdom is perfect for both of your children. It has a wide range of rides suitable for all ages, including classic attractions like
"it’s a small world,” Peter Pan’s Flight, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Your 7-year-old can enjoy more adventurous rides like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Plus, there are character meet-and-greets and parades that your whole family will enjoy.
Animal Kingdom offers a mix of nature, animals, and entertainment. Your 7-year-old will love Kilimanjaro Safaris and exploring
Pandora – The World of Avatar. There are also plenty of shaded areas and trails, which are great for strolling with your 7-month-old.
EPCOT offers a more relaxed pace, which might be appreciated with a baby in tow. Your 7-year-old might enjoy attractions such as Frozen Ever After in the Norway Pavilion, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, and
Spaceship Earth. There are also interactive play areas and cultural experiences in World Showcase.
My favorite tips for traveling with a baby:
- Take advantage of the Baby Care Centers! Each park has a Baby Care Center with changing tables, feeding rooms, and quiet spaces, which are ideal for taking breaks.
- Bring or rent a stroller. Disney parks are large, and a stroller will be a must for your 7-month-old (and possibly even for your 7-year-old if they get tired).
- Utilize the Rider Switch service for rides that your 7-year-old might want to experience but aren’t suitable for the baby. This allows one parent to wait with the baby while the other rides, then switch without waiting in line again.
Another tip is to consider booking a character meal, which can be a highlight for your 7-year-old. Options such as Chef Mickey’s or Cinderella’s Royal Table offer fun interactions and great food.
If you're able to, start your days early to make the most of your time. Be flexible with your schedule to accommodate the needs of the baby. With a bit of planning, you’ll have a magical experience that the whole family will enjoy! Please feel free to
reach out to me directly with any additional questions. Have a magical day!
