Hiya Jen,
Welcome to
planDisney! Thank you so much for your question about one of my absolutely favorite topics,
Walt Disney World Resort dining! Some people spend time carefully planning their itinerary to maximize their chances of riding every attraction at the Theme Parks; mine revolves around snacks and food.
Traveling with a Mouseketeer with food allergies can require a bit of extra planning, but luckily Walt Disney World Resort is one of the most accommodating destinations. Since you mentioned that your Guest has severe allergies, I advise reaching out to the
Walt Disney World Resort Special Diets team at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com. The Cast Members on this team can help you better prepare for and navigate Disney Dining while considering your unique needs. You can also investigate yourself by browsing the menus for each dining location you are interested in visiting. In the menus, you can get an idea of the main ingredients of each dish and what allergy-friendly dishes already exist (you can find this after the beverage list). Most dining locations have allergy-friendly choices for Guests with gluten/wheat, fish/shellfish, peanut/tree nut, and milk allergies, but I’ve seen offerings for those with sesame allergies as well. You will need to dig more than “a little deeper” for this, so I think you would be best served reaching out to the Special Diets team.
I hope this was helpful, Jen, and that you find the information that you need to make incredible dining choices. We are always here to help if you need it!
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
