Welcome back to
planDisney, Jennifer!
Isn’t it so exciting when your countdown to Walt Disney World Resort can be measured in weeks instead of months? Congratulations on this magical milestone!
Speaking of countdowns, did you know that the My Disney Experience app has a
fun countdown feature themed to your specific Disney Resort hotel? It’s such a magical way to keep track of when it’s time to make advance dining reservations and purchase
Lightning Lane passes.
It’s difficult to say which Disney Resorts Collection hotel is my favorite, Jennifer, but I am confident that Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts (both
Riverside and
French Quarter) are near the top of the list. The theming, scenic river locations, and delicious
dining create an ideal atmosphere to rest weary feet and simply enjoy the quiet magic of Walt Disney World Resort.
With so many things to love about Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts (like Mickey-shaped beignets and the Sassagoula River cruise), the absence of a fitness center has never been a deterrent for me. In fact, with the exception of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, fitness centers are exclusively available at Disney Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resort hotels. Because this particular amenity has limited availability and capacity, a Resort hotel’s fitness center is reserved exclusively for its Guests, so unfortunately you will be unable to utilize the one at Disney’s Old Key West Resort during your vacation.
While I’m sure this is not what you were hoping to hear, Jennifer I do want to reassure you that Port Orleans’ absence of a gym doesn’t mean you’ll need to abandon your fitness routine during vacation. The
1.7-mile jogging trail along the Sassagoula River is the perfect place to walk, jog, or ride a
bike.
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
