Howdy, George!
Welcome to planDisney and thanks for galloping over with your great
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question.
Yee-haw! You're counting down the days until your
autumn visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. George, I'm happy to help you to understand your options for visiting
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground during your upcoming visit. You've got a friend in me!
I'm excited to hear that you'll be staying at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort in October. This Value Resort hotel immerses Guests in the magic of Disney and Pixar animation and is situated on the
Disney Skyliner route, making getting to the theme parks a breeze! I can understand your desire to visit Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground during the fall - Guests go all out with their spooky decorations! George, parking availability at Disney Resort hotels can vary by location. However, in my recent experience, only Guests staying at the Resort hotel or with dining reservations at the location are currently permitted to park personal vehicles. While, occasionally, "day Guests" are
permitted to park to explore Resort hotels without a reservation, this is variable and is subject to the discretion of security.
If you'll be relying solely on
Resort transportation, you're more than welcome to visit other Disney Resort hotels during your stay! To get from Disney's Art of Animation Resort to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground using complimentary Resort transportation, I'd like to offer two recommendations for you to choose from:
- Take the Disney Skyliner from Disney's Art of Animation Resort to Disney's Hollywood Studios. (Remember, you'll transfer routes at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort!) From there, hop aboard a bus to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
- Take the bus from Disney's Art of Animation Resort to Magic Kingdom Park. Then, sail across Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake aboard watercraft transportation to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
George, another option available to you is
Disney Minnie Van service. This paid personal ride service is powered by the Lyft mobile app and offers Guests quick and direct transportation between locations within the Walt Disney World Resort. I rely on this service frequently when visiting other Disney Resort hotels, as it's usually the fastest option and worth the value, in my opinion!
I hope you've found this information helpful, George. I'm wishing you the rootin'est tootin'est time at The Most Magical Place on Earth and I hope you enjoy the festive fall decorations! If you have any additional planning questions, please feel free to swing back by
planDisney again anytime. We're here to help with
any questions you may have - to infinity and beyond!
So long partner,
