Ahoy, Tina!
Thanks for bringing your thoughtful question to planDisney – I understand wanting to purchase flights and get organized in advance for this special vacation.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida is an exciting new departure port for
Disney Cruise Line and I’m happy to share detailed logistics with you for leaving Port Everglades next spring.
Disney Cruise Line advises that the earliest departure time from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on debarkation day is 11:00 A.M. Your 10:50 A.M. flight option is very close to that time, but I wouldn’t secure a flight any earlier than that, given the formal guidance.
On disembarkation day, you must be out of your stateroom by 8:00 A.M. and you will be assigned a breakfast seating time based on your evening dinner seating schedule, typically between 6:30 – 8:30 A.M. You may choose to miss this last seated meal in the main dining room, and you may also choose Express Walk-Off to manage your own time in advance of your flight. This option means that you don’t leave your luggage out the night prior for collection and carry your own luggage off the ship once it has been cleared upon arrival that morning. You then don’t have to wait for a certain group to be called to disembark and you have your own luggage in hand to manage, but you are more in control of your time that morning to get to your flight. My family has chosen to do this on our past few cruises, and it has been seamless for us to take our bags and disembark quickly based on the day’s plans.
You may arrange for
Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation from the port to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, which is reserved for a per-person fee. This leaves the timing and driving to Disney while you relax and enjoy the short drive to the airport. You may add this option to
your reservation online for round-trip service, or
call Disney Cruise Line to add it for just one-way service.
Please let us know what other questions you have as you put together the exciting details for your special vacation next year. We love to share fun tips and tricks to make the most of your magical sailing!
Wishing you blue skies and sunshine,
Amy
