Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Naima!
You are very wise to be planning ahead for your nutritional needs during the Walt Disney World® Marathon. Avoiding heavy, high-fat meals 72 hours prior to running the 26.2 most magical miles on earth will help to keep your body running efficiently while out on the course. Here is my advice on dining at Disney's Port Orleans Resorts:
Just a stroll away from Disney's Port Orleans - French Quarter is Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside; here you will find the
Riverside Mill Food Court, which I find to have healthier options than the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at French Quarter (you can get a beignet after the race). Riverside Mill Food Court offers a pasta bar which will allow you to customize your pre-race pasta meal! You can even get it to go and take it back with you to the French Quarter.
Another option is to consider grocery delivery from an outside company like Garden Grocer. You can order water, bananas, bagels, butter putter and any other healthy pre-race essentials and snacks you might want online from their website prior to your arrival. Your room will have a mini-fridge, making it easy to store anything you might want kept cold.
I hope this helps, Naima! Please let me know if you have any plans to visit a theme park prior to the race, and which one(s) you might be visiting and I can give you some specific theme park dining options, too.
Have a magical day!
Faith
