I'll go to Walt Disney World for next December and I want to know if I can go to the water parks. Are they open for that season? If yes, what about the schedule? Thanks in advance! Best Regards!

    Hi, Elda!

I’m happy to hear you’re thinking of planning a vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort! December is a wonderful time to visit “The Most Magical Place on Earth.”

Yes, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach water parks are open year-round, and the water is heated. However, necessary maintenance and refurbishment of the water parks are often scheduled for December through March, so it is possible that one of them could be closed for several days during the winter months. It is rare that both water parks are closed at the same time, though. Park hours are released about 180 days in advance and are subject to change, so it’s best to check the online calendar often as your visit approaches. Generally speaking, the water parks are open from mid-morning until late afternoon.

I hope this helps, Elda, and that you have a wonderfully pixie-dusted visit to Walt Disney World! Please write back with any other questions you may have as you continue to plan.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
