Hi there, Kendal! Welcome to
planDisney. Thank you for stopping by to chit-chat with me about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation.
I see that your trip to the
Most Magical Place On Earth is coming up in just a few short weeks. You've got to be getting so excited! Kendal, you are in for a real treat dining at
California Grill. It is such a special restaurant.
Because California Grill is so highly regarded, there is a bit of a dress code to dine there. But don't worry, I think you'll find items that are already on your must-pack list suit the bill just fine. Women are able to wear capri pants, skirts, dresses, jean shorts and even jeans if in good condition while dining at California Grill. Men have a similar dress code with khakis, slacks, dress shorts, jeans in good condition and collard shirts being appropriate attire. Things to leave in your suitcase are tank tops, flip-flops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, hats for men, cut-offs, torn clothes and inappropriate t-shirts. I think you get the idea. Of course, you are welcome to wear dressier clothing items than the ones mentioned above if you would like to make it a special occasion, Kendal, this list is just a starting point.
Kendal, I've honestly never had a bad meal while dining at California Grill. I've enjoyed brunch with friends on numerous occasions, small plates from the lounge area, celebrated family accomplishments and even enjoyed Christmas dinner there once. The menu has changed over the years but remains fantastic whatever the offerings are. To celebrate the 50th anniversary at Walt Disney World, the chefs at California Grill have come up with a menu that embodies the spirit of 1971 while also looking ahead to what's to come in the future. During your meal, you'll be able to enjoy a 3-course tasting menu with several options for you to choose from. I found it incredibly fun that on the appetizer menu one of the offerings, the Artisanal-style Duck à l'Orange Pizza, was inspired by a dish that was on the original menu when the Top Of The World first opened. I love little tidbits like that. For dessert, I would also suggest trying the 5 Magical Bites 50 Years in the Making dessert that features a tasting of 5 favorite flavors from California Grill Chefs through the years. No matter what you decide for your meal, I know it is going to be divine. You can find all of the offerings of this s
pecial 50th-anniversary menu on the California Grill website.
I could go on and on about California Grill, Kendal. I've realized while writing this how many special memories I've made there and I hope it is the same for you. One perk that I wanted to mention is that when you dine at California Grill, you are invited to enjoy the fireworks from
Magic Kingdom Park out on the terrace just outside of the restaurant. Even if your meal is earlier in the evening, you can hang on to your receipt and you will be permitted back up for the fireworks show. The lights dim and music from the show is pipped in. Some say it is the best firework viewing spot in all of Walt Disney World. It really is magical and I have my fingers crossed that you'll be able to enjoy them while you are there.
I hope this helps get you so excited for your evening at California Grill. If you have any other questions about this, or anything else, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm happy to help.
Enjoy!
Jackie H.
