Hi Michelle,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question! One of my closest friends has celiac disease, which means that she can’t eat any gluten at all and that she’s particularly sensitive to cross-contamination. In spite of this, she described her visit last summer to Walt Disney World Resort as “heavenly” because of how many things she was able to eat during her visit!
Almost every Walt Disney World Resort restaurant has some excellent gluten free options, including the ones that serve typically off-limits food such as pizza and pasta. My friend swears by the gluten free pizza that she had at
Pinocchio’s Village Haus at Magic Kingdom Park (and I quote: “that was the best gluten-free pizza I’ve ever had”).
Most quick service locations offer allergy-free menus and other meal options that will work for your boyfriend. Please indicate any dietary requirements or allergies when you place at your chosen dining location and they’ll be able to assist you with your choices. Although I’ve never seen an official list of gluten free options, “unofficial sites” such as Allergy Free Mouse (http://www.allergyfreemouse.com/) and Gluten-Free & Dairy-Free WDW (www.glutenfreedairyfreewdw.com) prepare the kind of list you’re looking for. You’ll also find reviews of many Disney dining options, which should help you narrow down your choices. If you have any questions about a location's menu, please contact the
Special Dietary Requests team.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
