I'll be coming to Magic Kingdom with an extra magic hour. I know the park "opens" at 8:00AM, but how does this affect rope drop and the opening show? I just can't seem to find out when we should truly arrive to start our day.

Howdy Laura!  Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I have always enjoyed the “Opening Show”.  The show has changed throughout the years.  Currently the show “Let the Magic Begin” is the opening ceremony located at Cinderella Castle.  This is the perfect beginning to the perfect day with Mickey Mouse and the gang!  Since you will be here within the week, I checked the calendar and the opening show begins at 8:55 a.m. for the next few weeks, weather permitting.  You will be allowed to enter the park one hour before the park opens and enjoy the shops that are open on Main Street, U.S.A. and the Main Street Bakery.  Leave enough time to travel to the park, enjoy Main Street, U.S.A. and grab a special place to watch Mickey open the Magic Kingdom Park in the most memorable way!

I’m so excited for you!  Your vacation is just around the “Riverbend”!  There are so many exciting things to see and do right now at the Walt Disney World Resort!  If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, there is still time to add Memory Maker to your memorable vacation.  The Walt Disney World Resort offers several “Magic Shots” and the new “Super Zoom and Tiny World Magic Shots”!  These are so much fun for everyone!

Thank you for sharing your question with the Disney Parks Moms Panel and if you have any more questions please come back.  We love to help, Laura!  Happy Packing!

    See Ya Real Soon,
