I'll be at AK on 3/14/13 with my two boys (3 and 5 yrs) and was planning to go to both the Nemo and the Lion King Shows. How far in advance of the shows should we arrive? Can we send one parent ahead to save seats for the group?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Jennifer!

Planning a trip to Disney World is always super exciting and your trip will be here before you know it! You're visiting just as spring break season is starting and a good plan of action is always a good thing.

Finding Nemo - The Musical and Festival of the Lion King are both excellent shows and your family will love them. I would plan to arrive at least 30 - 45 minutes prior to show time.

You could send one parent ahead to save seats but you run the possible risk of the theater reaching capacity and you not being allowed in. I think that it would be easier for you to do that at Finding Nemo - The Musical than at Festival of the Lion King. The seating in the Festival of the Lion King Theater is bench seating and Guests tend to squeeze in tighter which may not leave as much room as you'd need for the 4 of you.

We usually all wait together unless someone needs to jump out of line for a potty break. There are some things you can do with your boys to help keep them entertained in line. Here are some ideas:
    • Take their favorite small toys, handheld games or even your phone.
    • Play games like I-Spy.
    • Grab a snack to enjoy while you wait.
    • Using a Park Guide Map, play where is _____?
    • Use the time to talk about what their favorite thing has been so far or what you're going to do next.
    • Let them take pictures with your phone or camera. The beauty of the digital age is that you can delete them later.  I usually end of keeping them because I think its fun to see our vacation through their eyes and what they thought looked interesting enough to photograph.
