Hiya Susan!
Welcome back again to planDisney! I hope I'm understanding your question correctly but either you are not seeing the ability to purchase a
MagicBand+ for your grandkids or you are not seeing the styles they wanted. I will help answer both for you just in case!
When purchasing MagicBands for others for a future trip your party must be linked to your
Family & Friends List. If your grandkids are under the age of 13 then making a
managed profile is the way to go. If another person has made and is in charge of their managed profiles then you will have to connect to them first and then they can invite you to be connected with them. Check out your
Family & Friends List and if you see your grandkids on there then you are set. Next, make sure that they are linked to the registration so that they become eligible for a discounted MagicBand purchase.
Now, if the issue is that certain MagicBand designs that your grandkids want are now missing then I'm sorry to tell you that this sometimes happens. The available designs can change daily and it can be frustrating as everyone has to select and purchase their MagicBand all at once. I, however, am not willing to compromise and if I don't like the designs present have no issue declining a MagicBand for pre-order at a discounted price. I have sometimes chosen to purchase the perfect design from the
Disney store online. If your grandkids had a certain design in mind then I hope the Disney store online can help. It's also totally normal to purchase MagicBands when in the Parks. So many merchandise locations throughout the Parks and in your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel will have a variety of choices. A tip I would like to share is that sometimes if you are looking for a specific character or theme then look at the attraction gift shop related to them. For example, if you are looking for Winnie the Pooh-related MagicBands then look in the gift shop of
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Another great shop to explore is
World of Disney® and
Disney's Pin Traders in Disney Springs. These bands won't be discounted when purchased after you arrive but may make a little one very happy.
Something that keeps happening to me and my family that I don't want to happen to you is that we keep losing our bands in the Parks! Sometimes the clasp unlatches and it falls off. I learned the hard way that a good solution is to use a hair tie to loop around the band and secure it in place.
I hope this helps and if you have any questions please
let me know.
Happy Planning!
