Hi there, Nancy!
Welcome to planDisney, and let me be the first to wish you an early "Happy Birthday" celebration! Also, you sound like a totally magical grandmother! I would love to help you get ready to enjoy the
Disneyland Resort with your mini Mouseketeers!
The
Disability Access Service (DAS) is designed to help guests who are unable to wait in traditional lines. Eligible guests can
pre-register for DAS by meeting online with a Cast Member up to 30 days before their arrival, but you must register at least two days before your trip. Your pre-registration will include a video call with a Cast Member who will help determine your eligibility for the program and help you schedule some attractions for your visit, if available.
Before you join the video chat, make sure that you have valid park tickets and park reservations for everyone in your party, and that they're all linked to your Disney account. When you're logged into your Disney account and ready to go,
scroll to the bottom of this page to request a Live Chat. Cast Members are available between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
I also did a little checking around and confirmed that
hiking poles are not on the Disneyland prohibited item list, so you're currently able to bring them to the parks with you. You can also minimize your time standing in lines by downloading the
Disneyland Mobile App and purchasing
Disney Genie+ Service. I also like to use the app for
mobile food orders—you could order what you'd like to eat, find a nice spot to sit, then have one of those cute grandkids help you pick up your order when it's ready.
Have the most MAGICAL birthday celebration, Nancy! Many happy returns!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
