Hi Trinity,
How wonderful to be celebrating your son's 6th birthday with his first trip to Walt Disney World. I do have some thoughts for you on how to make this trip extra special.
First, be sure to stop by Guest Relations at any of the Disney theme parks and pick up both a "Happy Birthday" and a "1st Visit" button, free of charge. He can wear the 1st Visit button the whole time that you are there, and then the happy birthday button on his special day. Although no special treatment is guaranteed, you never know when a little extra pixie dust will be sprinkled on his day. When my daughter wore a happy birthday button on her 7th birthday, our server at The Plaza Restaurant brought out a festive cupcake after her meal! Along these same lines, I suggest that you note on any resort or dining reservations that you are celebrating his birthday. No special treatment is guaranteed, but he might get some extra birthday magic.
You might also consider ordering him a gift from
Disney Floral and Gifts. There are so many gifts to choose from here, and they can be customized for your little one. We had a Minnie Mouse plush with balloons delivered to our daughter on her birthday, and she loved it. Once you have perused their website, I suggest calling a Dream Maker at 407-WDW-GIFT (407-939-4438) to customize your gift for your son. Finally, you might call the Cake Hotline at 407-827-2253. The cast members there can help you to order a customized cake for your son. We had a delicious chocolate cake in the shape of Minnie Mouse's face made for our daughter and delivered to our villa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort.
I hope that this gives you some ideas for celebrating your son's birthday at Walt Disney World, Trinity! Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
