Hi Taniya!
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
You've come to the right place for your question about whether Disneyland is a good choice for a 1st birthday celebration. The answer is a loud, resounding Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
YES!
Celebrating a young Mouseketeer's 1st birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth will be an unforgettable memory for you and the child, because even though later in life he may not remember turning one, you'll have magical photos to share about their 1st birthday!
Here are some reasons why celebrating a first birthday at Disneyland is a great choice:
* Kids under 3 are free. No need to worry about purchasing a Park ticket for the young Mouseketeer!
* Birthday button. A bright and cheerful birthday button can be requested (free of charge) at City Hall along Main Street U.S.A.
* Hugs and photos with Mickey Mouse. You can visit
Mickey's House and Meet Mickey inside Mickey's Toontown and have a mini photo session with the birthday boy/girl. To make things extra festive, I would encourage buying Mickey Ears and a balloon for the little one!
*Birthday character meal. You can make reservations up to 60 days in advance to book a table at Plaza Inn where Minnie and friends will be happy to stop and greet you at your table while you enjoy delicious food! Call (714) 781-DINE to make reservations.
* Birthday cake. You can also pre-order a character birthday cake and have it delivered to your table-service restaurant!
* Attractions. There are several attractions designed for "all ages" that little ones really enjoy. These include "it's a small world", Peter Pan's Flight, The Story Book Land Canal Boats, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Jungle Cruise, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, King Arthur's Carrousel, among others!
I hope these ideas help.
Have a Magical celebration!
