Hello! Any ideas for planning a Halloween Themed Gender Reveal at Disney?

    Hiya Amber,

Boo to You, Mummy to be, and Welcome to planDisney! First, let me say Congratulations on the little Mouseketeer! Disney has been a massive part of my announcements for both of my babies, so I'm super excited to answer your question. There is no more perfect place to celebrate a new baby than Walt Disney World Resort, in my opinion!

For a Halloween-themed reveal, I have a few frightfully fun ideas. If you are a fan of the Haunted Mansion, then you might love my first idea. Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite attraction photo spots, and it could be the perfect place for a reveal! Have the reveal details written on a card (or have an item that designates the sex), and when you get to the photo location, hold it up to the hidden camera. You can close your eyes when you do it, and then, when you get off the ride, open up your photo gallery to a spooky reveal that you can share with your friends and family! If you aren't sure where the camera is located in Haunted Mansion, definitely ask the Cast Member before you get in the queue and explain why. They will ensure that you don't miss your close-up. Speaking of Cast Members, my second idea also involves a little magic and an assist from a Cast Member. Stop by any merchandise location at Walt Disney World Resort and pick out Halloween plushes (or onesies) that will help indicate the gender of your Mouseketeer. Now, here is where the Cast Member comes into play: show the Cast Member the reveal envelope at checkout and ask them to help you purchase the item to match, and then hide it in the bag so you can't peek. Then head on over to a PhotoPass photographer and do your reveal! Not only will you have a photo of the moment, but you will also have a little keepsake that you can give to the baby one day. You could also use this idea with embroidered Mickey ear hats, which, although they aren't Halloween, are very cute! We did this to announce my son's name in December, and now he has his first set of ears.

I hope these two ideas give you some inspiration, Amber! Before I let you go, I do have one more idea to share. Capture Your Moment photoshoots are a fantastic way to celebrate special moments, such as a reveal (I did one for my maternity photos). A dedicated Cast Member will help you get perfect pictures for you and up to 7 additional Guests. You can also bring props with you, as long as they comply with property rules, to help make your reveal as spooky as you want (I'm thinking a little carved pumpkin). No matter what you decide, I am so excited for you and this new little Mouseketeer! Please come back and see us if you need anything else.

    Happy Planning, and Congratulations again,

    Ashley F.
