What are some ideas for couples to do on an adult only vacation? What are best places to eat?

    Carrie:

Having visited numerous times without children, I can assure you that not only will you find a lot that's "adults-only" but let me also encourage you not to miss the family attractions. There's something about being at the Magic Kingdom without children that will actually bring out the kid in you! But here are some of my favorite things to do as a couple:

    • The Boardwalk: From the casual ESPN Club to the more expensive Flying Fish or our pick, Yachtsman's Steakhouse, you have many choices for dining in the area. As evening rolls in, you'll find outside entertainers. Rent a surrey bike to tour the outskirts of Crescent Lake but make sure you don't miss Epcot's Illuminations from the benches near the Dance Hall at 9:00 p.m. Top off the night with karaoke at the nearby Swan Hotel's Kimono's or simply sing along at the dueling piano bar Jellyrolls.
    • Downtown Disney: Raglan Road provides a backdrop of entertaining Irish dancers to accompany your meal and is my favorite restaurant at DD. Take one of the new Amphicars from The Boathouse out on the water or ride one of the boats down to Port Orleans and back for free. Finish off the night at Splitsville, the new bowling alley with cozy booth seating and order some midnight snacks.
    • Go for a run. Some folks think we're crazy for exercising on vacation, but we enjoy the uninterupted time together to explore the resorts. Our two favorites: running around the Boardwalk in the morning or running along the road from Fort Wilderness to the Wilderness Lodge at dusk when the animals come out.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
